Blog number 10

Hello Blog World, I'm back with Shaq Talks Back blog number 10. Wow, It's been ten or eleven weeks and they just blew by. This will be my last blog of Shaq Talks Back, one because I only needed ten blogs and two I done reading. This was a interesting assignment to say the least and I'm happy to have read the book that I wanted to read and one not hand pick for me. I'm not saying hand picked is bad but this was a cool book on a great basketball player. Now lets get back into action, this blog will deal with a special section called Shaqfari, and chapter 12. Shaqfari is written by Shaq friend and talks about Shaq love of killing animals. I'm not talking about all animals, just the one for sport. His friend talks about Shaq being from Newark NJ and coming down to the outback for the first time and having a good time. One sad story is when Shaq dog will killed by alligator and had him cremated. Chapter 12 is about the aftermath of winning the championship and how he felt some of his rage was let go. The rest of the chapter deals with the future and what he wanted to accomplish. It's 2010 and this book was written in 2000-2001, so the future is now. Shaq wanted to win more than one championship and he did. Shaq has won four championship, three with the Lakers and one with the Miami Heat. He wanted to be know as a all-time great and he is already one of the best centers to play the game. He wanted to get married after his career, but he did it before hand and has great kids. He wanted to retire, when he was 35, he is 37 now and still playing. I like that I could compare, what he said then to what he's doing now. Shaquille O'neal is currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and is in his 17th year in the NBA. This is Gerard's World and I'm Out.

Blog number 9

Hello Blog World, I'm back with Shaq talks back, number 9. This Blog will deal with chapter 11 called the playoffs. The previous chapter dealt with the regular season, which determines your place in the playoffs. This chapters is a extension of the last with details accounts of his thought process and the teams up and down performance. The playoff is where one team goes against another for a certain amount of games to determine which team will move forward. This chapter, Shaq talks about some of his matchups with the others teams and his stats during the games. It also gives the feeling of how big the playoffs series is and how much a championship means to everyone who plays in the NBA. This chapters deals with the first round of playoffs then towards the finals. Shaq doesn't hold anything back, he gives his positive and negative feedback on each game. My favorite part had to be the end of this chapter, when he won the championship and was able to answer his critics. This is Gerard World

Blog number 8

Hello Blog world, I'm back with my eighth blog of Shaq Talks Back, and this blog will deal with only chapter ten. This chapter deals with the 1999-2000 season, which they won the championship and the up and downs of that season. Shaq goes back and talks about just how the team got started, the players they brought in, they just got Phil Jackson as the head coach, and how he's hunger for his first title. This chapter was intresting because he talked about a the regular life of an NBA player, which is going city to city, not being home as much and how you have to stay motivated to take on different teams every other night. He also goes on to talk about certain games in that season, that he put in big numbers, which includes on his birthday. He was able to put up 61 points and went to the club later that night. He also gives details on the locker room enviroment in which he called it being juvenile, in which a lot of players would play prankes on each other and joke about each other. The up and downs are really revolved around winning and losing, and how the media loves you one minute and the next they dislike you once you start losing. The other down is teammates getting along and working together on the court. They did win a championship, so they got along well enough. This is Gerard World

Blog number 7

Hello blog world, this would be my seventh blog and it will revolve around chapters 8 and a special section between 9 and 10 . Chapter 9 deals with alot of different issues, that I guess he had to get off his chest. Well at first he starts with calling some players in the league knuck heads and himself a knuck head as well but not a serious knucklehead. He describes a knuckle head as some one who talks to the fans in the game, opposing coaches, negative antics and so on. He also describes the NBA as nothing but actors because every player is trying to market themselves for a deal. He feels the NBA is trying market themselves the wrong way, because there not a squeaky clean league, their good guys and bad. He talks about his other centers around the league that he goes against and slap one of them across the head for talking negative about him. Their also legends of the NBA, that he takes shot at some legends that he felt didn't give him respect or didn't like him. Their also a section about winning with superstars on your team and how girls can break up a team and have players fighting each other for one girl. The last few pages deal with his relationship with the media, which is when you win they love you and when you don't their waiting to tear you up. The other pages deals with race in the NBA, and drug testing, which is getting more strict. The special section inbetween chp 9and 10 is called The original Shaq Daddy, and deal with players being responsible for their kids and deals with women trying to get money from players, and how he will always be a father to his kids.

Blog number 6

Hello blog world, I'm back with my sixth blog of Shaq talks back. I haven't been on in two weeks because of spring break but I'm trying to get back into the spring of the things. This blog will deal with chapter 8 and a special part of SHAQSPEAK( which is slang) What I like about chapter 8 is that it dealt with a lot of issues beside basketball. Shaq talk about helping people less fournate and giving back, whether it was computers or going to the hood and giving kids hope. In this chapter Shaq drop talks about meeting a lot of famous people and being a celebrity himself. He talks about meeting Marilyan Madison, Prince, Biggie Smalls. Another part I like is that he respect all people and doesn't look past where he came from. Shaq didn't grow up with a lot of stuff and now that he does, he keeps himself humble and respects people trying to come up themselves and doesn't downgrade people because he has more. Shaq also talks about his love life in highschool and college in which he wasn't the man until his 2nd year and how this girl broke his heart, when she wasn't committed to him. Last part of this chapter, Shaq talks about the Taco Bell and how he came up with the idea for them to use the dog in a commerical, which later would replace him. SHAQSPEAK is right after chapter 8 and is basically slang for example Bling-Bling-The gleam that occurs when the sun hit a diamond just right. Shaq quotes "Flossin- just as you floss your pearly-white teeth in the mirror , this is showing off to the extreme, rubbing your wealth and sucess in people's face." This is Gerard world and thanks for reading

It a lot of talk and players going to different teams. Shaq talked about the money and making as much as you can while in the nba. The average years for an Nba player is about 3 or 4 years depending on who you are. He also talked about being young with a lot of money and understanding not to overuse money on material things. He talked about a player who had 13 cars and next thing you know they were taken away because he wasn't making money from the NBA. He made comment on the offseason and trying to rebuilt the team after winning the champioship and what it would take to bring different players in. Their was a special section that was put in by his sister, that talked about Shaq as a person and how he took care of her along side his other sister and brother. It talk about the time from the beginning right around the time he declared himself to the NBA and how he's always been good to the family.

Blog number 4

Hello Blog world, This is my fourth blog and hopefully my grade is looking good for class. This blog revolves around chapters five and six for Shaq Talks Back. This chapter is around the 2000-2001 season when the Lakers won their first championship. Chapter five is where Shaq meets his new head coach Phil Jackson. Phil was the coach of the Chicago Bulls who won six championship. He talks about his first meeting in which he had to help he move a tree and how Phil is into yoga so he talked about that to. Shaq also calles Phil his white father because that how much he meant to him. Their was also a few pages devoted to his free throw shooting, which he is around 50 % which is bad, but he tries. Chapter six is with his relationship with Kobe Bryant. Kobe was a up and coming star that came from highschool to the pros. He talked about his slap fight with Kobe which just sounds funny to me. Shaq felt the media try to break them apart but Phil Jackson pulled them together and they were able to make it through.
